Sandy Paternotte -Keyboards ( synth, piano, organ, effects)
Sandy played with a variety of bands in the Wilmington area in the late 70’s, most notably was founding member and original keyboardist with Sidewinder( of Star Search fame) and before that Montage. Taking a hiatus from bands, Sandy studied at ECU music school 1981-82 before getting his PS in Math from UNCW. “I went back to playing publicly in 1988 doing small gigs with drummer Mike Hargett and bassist Bill Holland here in Wilmington. “ In 1997 Sandy joined Winter Park Baptist Church’s Praise Team Band playing guitar as well as keys. “ I joined Mirage in 2009 and enjoy the good-time music made by this special group of guys.”
Tom “Robbie” Robbins -All saxophones, harmonica, vocals & percussion.
Tom is one of those guys who never misses a note or forgets a vocal line. With a background in big band swing, jazz and blues… he was a perfect fit for the re-vamped Mirage.He also throws on a mean rack of ribs. “I never played full time because most musicians were starving.. Finally I had to do it to keep my sanity. There’s nothing I enjoy more.”
Walt Bowden - Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, pedal steel & vocals
Performing since high school with many popular bands and opening for the likes of Pure Prairie League, Bellamy Brothers, David Allen Coe, Mothers Finest, Barefoot Jerry and others. “I was actually a road manager for RCA and have stayed active with recording, engineering , production and was a Classical/New Age music DJ for WHQR.Public Radio. Walt says “ I love live music played by live musicians. It’s a two way street, the people need the music and the bands need the people. “The other guys in Mirage are some of the finest players and singers I'’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
